If you focus on what you want then some novice might rise to the challenge. This community consists largely of amateurs. If you're willing to put in some effort then you can achieve decent results, even if you have no training or experience in visual art. The result is crude but it's better than nothing. People have created imports for their favorite characters simply by opening a reference image in MSPaint and then cropping out the background.
